Dr. Gary Stern, co-lead of the GENICE project with Dr. Casey Hubert from the University of Calgary, recently received $4 million dollars for Genomics Research in Oil Spill Preparedness and Emergency Response in an Arctic Marine Environment. Funding came from the province of Manitoba and the federal government of Canada. MP for Winnipeg South, Terry Duguid, announced the award today while visiting the University of Manitoba.
