The Intermountain Conservation District is currently accepting applications for the position of: Technical Analyst, Survey and GIS This full-time position will be the lead for the District’s Field Surveys and Geographical Information Systems.
Assigned tasks will include field surveying and data collection, GIS/CAD analysis, drone operation, basic equipment maintenance, temporary staff supervision, as well as project design and cost-estimates through to final project construction.
The position will have an approximate 50:50 office-field time split, with the majority of projects focusing on the implementation of IMCD’s new water retention strategy to reduce peak water flows and flood damages in the District.
The position requires training and/or experience in GIS, Geomatics, and Field Surveys (Laser Level and RTK GNSS), plus a basic understanding of issues related to erosion, hydrology, agriculture, and environmental stewardship. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate and associate with both rural and urban audiences. A post-secondary certificate/ diploma/ degree plus a valid driver’s license is required.
